From the clay-limestone plateaus at the top of the village to the deep gravel soils at the bottom, just a few kilometers are enough to completely change the playing field. Our vineyard, spread across the entire village (our grandfather was from the top of the village and our grandmother from the bottom— you couldn’t make it up), gives us the opportunity to express these different places through our cuvées.

‘Our project is rooted in the long term. What we aim to pass on to the next generation is not a business, but living soils, old vines, and preserved landscapes.’

AGroforestRY

We don’t believe in seas of vines; we believe in the resilience that comes from diversity. We prefer organized disorder to formal French gardens. Trees are the memory of a place—let us cultivate it.

Each year, we plant trees. Each year, we spend a day with the village primary school’s CE2 class. Laughter, frantic running, questions—lots of questions—and sometimes a new way of looking at things. Passing things on: passing on preserved landscapes to the next generation, passing on the little knowledge we have. The long winter months are for that too.

COVER CROPS

Plants rather than ploughing or chemicals: every year, we sow cover crops—radish, triticale, fava beans, vetch, crimson clover, forage peas—all tools that help us address soil issues naturally. And when everything is working well, we leave things alone and allow natural ground cover to take over. Knowing when to step back is essential when nature is doing its job.

PLANT MATERIAL

Plants are the link between generations. We seek to preserve them.
Practicing gentle pruning, mindful of the plant’s physiology.
Adjusting yields to vine vigor, without excess—balance rather than exuberance.
Seeking the true identity of grape varieties and planting massal selections.
